Robin Saklatvala

Robin is an independent, experienced events and communications manager

Robin has been working as a freelancer for over 10 years.  Her business has grown based on word of mouth and client retention - a reflection of the confidence her clients have in her organizational skills, commitment and flexibility.

One of her most recent projects is Open Garden Squares Weekend, which sees over 200 secret and private gardens on London open for one Weekend. During the 3 years Robin has worked on this event she has doubled the ticket sales and forged relationships with partners such as 10 Downing Street, The National Trust and Time Out.

In 2010 Robin completed an MA by Research at the University of Befordshire, researching festival design and development.

As part of this she:

  • Initiated and developed an annual Arts Festival in Luton.
  • Taught a Cultural Events Management module on the Roots to Carnival Course
  • Presented a paper on Arts Festival at the Media, Communication and Cultural Studies Association Postgraduate Conference in July 2008.
  • Published the Academic paper: “The B:Fest: Pedagogy and Public Spaces” (Saklatvala and Gordon 2009), Networks, ADM- HEA

Before working as a Freelancer Robin has been employed by the Imperial War Museum, the Royal National Lifeboat Institution and the NHS Confederation in various event, marketing and project management roles. (See Clients)
